I just saw this contest to win a $200 gift card to Target! Yes, Target is one of my favorite stores, and boy would I like one of these cards!!! This is the one store where the pants fit Isaiah - he might be gaining a little weight, but the kid is still skinny! =0)
Well, all I have to do to enter this contest is write a post about it on my blog . . . with that already being done, I go to their website (http://theblogfrog.com/advertising/giveaway.aspx) and enter my e-mail address (this is for anybody else, who also has a blog, wanting to have a chance at this gift card). =0)
All of this is made possible by the BlogFrog - that little thing on the right side of my blog that lets you (and me) know about my friends that have visited my blog. Okay, so it hasn't been working that well . . . yet. However, I figure that the chance to get a $200 gift card is certainly worth it! =0) Just kidding, but I do like the BlogFrog (and the chance to get a gift card). =0) And as far as the BlogFrog not working . . . if it's not working now, it should be soon - they're fixing the problem.
I am a little loopy - I had very little sleep last night because Isaiah had trouble sleeping again. I'm not too sure what's going on with the little man, but he seems happy enough today. =0) I do know that his body has already adjusted to the dose of Prednisone - the rashes are coming back even though he is still on it. He also flushed pretty badly on Saturday and Sunday (and then started to get another rash on Sunday because he was flushing). I didn't think that was supposed to happen, but it is. The rashes aren't too bad, so I don't think they are causing much discomfort. I think last night was just one of those nights . . . that hopefully won't be repeated. He really needs his sleep otherwise he's not himself - his happy self. He did have a bit of a rough day yesterday (he wasn't sure if he was happy or grumpy), but seems to be doing rather well this morning.
My dad is doing pretty good. He is up and about today scraping the old paint off the porch ceiling. Of course, that's not the best idea, but he says that staying busy keeps his mind off the pain. Unfortunately, it also adds to it. Apart from that, he has been doing pretty good. He has even started going for bike rides again. The evenings really give you a good idea of how he's doing, though. Some evenings, he is mostly fine - just dozing in the chair. Others, when he does too much during the day, he is pale and blue-lipped (like he was on Saturday).
He is so spunky, too! He now gets up in the middle of the night just to turn the heat up . . . to like 80 degrees (which could have something to do with Isaiah not sleeping well last night). =0) Usually, my mom or I find out and turn the heat off (because, really, it's not needed here). He is definitely getting some sweats for Christmas . . . along with that blanket that has arms so he can wear the blanket while he's in the house! =0) I'm also looking into hot water bottles and such. He does get cold - his hands can be cold to the touch. It's almost as if his body temperature falls or something.
Thanks for praying for us! Between my dad and son, things can get pretty hairy around here! =0) Even amongst the stress, God blesses us with His joy! While this verse is part of Mary's song, I still love how true it is for all of us: "46 And Mary said: 'My soul glorifies the Lord. 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me— holy is his name' " (Luke 1:46-47; 49).
Well, that's all for now. =0)
Blessings!

That cracks me up about your dad and the heat! Spend some of your $200 prize money on a nice toasty blanket for your dad. :)!
